About the Author
     Alejandro Reyes is the author of “Beginner’s Guide to SolidWorks”, first released for SolidWorks 2005 and updated for every release until the 2011version, an now added a second volume to include more advanced topics. 

      Writing this book was a suggestion by  former SolidWorks Educational market director when she saw a basic training manual developed by Alejandro for new users, and after introducing him to SDC Publications the book was published and the rest is history.

He holds a BS in Electro-Mechanical Engineering and a MS in Mechanical Design. He has over 18 years of experience in mechanical design and more than 13 years with CAD systems. From 1998 to 2006 he had an Authorized Training and Support Center for SolidWorks.  During this time he achieved the following credentials:

Certified SolidWorks Instructor
Certified SolidWorks Support Technician
Certified SolidWorks Professional (Core, Surfacing, Sheet Metal and Assemblies)
Certified CosmosWorks Support Technician

Since 2006 he has kept up to date with the latest releases of SolidWorks while working as an independent consultant for various companies in different fields, and recently found a hobby as an Android app developer.
